Get Ready for Hajj 2025!

Muslims from every ethnic group, colour, social class, and community assemble in Mecca once a year and stand together in praise of Allah before the Kaaba. It is a ritual intended to foster the bonds of Islamic brotherhood and sisterhood by demonstrating in the eyes of Allah that everyone is equal. By eliminating all signs of social status, riches, and pride, the Hajj makes Muslims feel the true importance of life here on earth, and the afterlife. They are all completely equal in the Hajj. Wear plain white clothes called Ihram for the Hajjis or pilgrims. During the Hajj the Pilgrims perform acts of worship and they renew their sense of intent in the world. For Muslims, the Hajj is Islam’s fifth and final pillar. It happens in the month of Dhul Hijjah, which is the Islamic lunar calendar’s twelfth month. It is the path that every sane adult Muslim, if they can afford it and are physically capable, must take at least once in their lives.
